| Desperado Cowboy Bullets are designed for use in shooting safe and accurate low and standard velocity Cowboy Action competition. The special softer alloy is designed to obturate ("bump up, swell, or expand") in the chamber and barrel to more precise accurate tolerances when using blackpowder and low velocity competition loads in either original or reproduction revolvers or new and old lever action rifles.
DCB Bullets have been designed with a plain based (flat bottom) configuration to complement the obturation process, and add significantly to accuracy and minimize leading in the forcing cone and barrel. Existing "bevel based" bullets are primarily designed for ease of loading, and in fact contribute to leading and diminished accuracy. You may have to exercise more care in loading DCB components, but only a more distinctive flare in the loading process is necessary. The folks at DCB are all NRA and SASS members and compete rather successfully using our own product. Collectively, we have over 50 years experience with casting, loading and shooting for competition and play. We have tested these bullets and in all cases accuracy improved over the regular bevel based and harder alloyed bullets. We have also discovered that in most cases barrel and forcing cone leading was less than ever experienced before. We are all shooters, handloaders and competitors and are starting the business to provide a line of bullets that will be safer, more accurate and authentic. Characteristics we could not find elsewhere. You might note that we will produce only bullet designs that, in most cases, match original weight and configuration. This is not by chance, they still work the best in these cowboy guns! The rest of them are designed after what has been successful for us in the past. We know they will improve your scores as well as provide a safer, ricochet free range. If you wish to get on our mailing list and/or be the "first on your block" to enter the world of accurate and authentic shooting, send your e-address to sales@cowboybullets.com. . . |
